SYN*ER*GY pl. syn*er*gies n. (med). The working together of two or more things, people, or organization, especially when the result is greater than the sum of their individual effects or capabilities.

National professional development, funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of English Language Acquisition under the provision of title III, is currently in its third year of operation. This teacher preparation project serves as a collaborative effort between Kansas State University (KSU), Garden City Community College (GCCC), and Seward County Community College (SCCC).

The goal of Project Synergy is to increase the number of English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsed teachers with bilingual capacities, highly qualified to meet the high standards of professional practice in the areas of southwest Kansas with high numbers of English Language Learning (ELL) and Limited English Proficiency (LEP) students.
