The mission of Kansas State University's Center for Social Studies Education is to serve the K-12 social studies education communities of Kansas, the United States, and the world by providing high quality professional development, conducting rigorous research and evaluation, and disseminating curricular and scholarly resources.

The Center for Social Studies Education was started in the College of Education at Kansas State University in 2008.
